Jennifer Lopez Says ‘PTSD’ From First Engagement To Ben Affleck Prompted Their 2022 Vegas Wedding: It All Fell Apart Back Then

Looks like past wedding trauma had Jennifer Lopez a little shaken up.

The famed 53-year-old singer/actress opened up about suffering from “a little PTSD” while planning her wedding to husband Ben Affleck, 50.

During a recent interview, Lopez shared details of how the happy couple decided on having a shotgun Vegas wedding. She stated:

“We were planning to get married in August in Savanah [Georgia]…and it was so stressful,”

She continued:

“A month before – I don’t know if you guys know this but 20 years ago we were supposed to get married – and it kind all fell apart back then, and this time….I had a little PTSD”

Back in 2002, Affleck and Lopez were similarly planning a large-scale wedding to celebrate their nuptials. However, the “Gone Girl” star called off the wedding due to excessive media coverage, eventually leading to the couple’s split.

This time around, however, ‘Jenny from the block’ says her man took matters into his own hands, giving her an offer she couldn’t refuse. She stated:

“We were so happy…but I just felt the wedding was so stressful and one day Ben just says, ‘f*ck it, let’s just go to Vegas and get married tonight….it was that day,”

Adding:

“I had rehearsals that day, I said ‘I can not go I have rehearsals today for my show’ and he was like ‘go to rehearsal when you get back here I’m gonna have everything all set up’…3 of our kids were at camp, 2 of them were with us, and he’s like, ‘they’re gonna be our witnesses, lets go, we’re doing it tonight’, and we did…It was amazing, it was the best night of our lives!”

Last year, Bennifer shocked fans and social media users worldwide after going public with their romance. The two had been spotted enjoying each other’s company and getting cozy prior to letting the public in on their rekindled relationship. Lopez gushed about her then-soon-to-be hubby following their engagement, stating:

“I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him….It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.” 

The pair also held an additional ceremony for friends and family at Affleck’s $8 million Georgia home following their Vegas wedding, in August, just at they planned.
