Drake’s Armed Security Refused & ‘Physically Kicked’ Subpoena In XXXTentacion Murder Trial
Looks like rap superstar Drake does not intend to participate in the murder trial of fellow rapper XXXTentacion.
According to legal affairs reporter Meghann Cuniff, Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, 36, was unable to be served papers requiring him to give a deposition in the forthcoming trial due to service providers being denied entry by armed security.

As previously reported, XXX, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed in June 2018 at 20 years old. The rapper was gunned down and robbed after leaving a motorsports store in Deerfield, Florida. Three suspects were arrested in connection to the murder – Michael Boatwright, 28, Trayvon Newsome, 24, and Dedrick Williams, 26. The fourth defendant, named Robert Allen, reportedly took a plea deal for second-degree murder, agreeing to testify against the others involved.
However, attorney Mauricio Padilla – representing Williams in the case, claims to reasonably believe that Drake was involved in the assassination. As we reported, XXX famously beefed with Drake as well as Migos rappers Quavo, Offset, and late third-member Takeoff. Months prior to his death, XXX made an Instagram post seemingly predicting his coming demise, prematurely placing blame on Drake. Tagging the Grammy winner’s Instagram handle, he wrote:
“IF ANYONE TRIED TO KILL ME IT WAS @champagnepapi, IM SNITCHING RN”

Drake

Padilla cited this incident in his opening defense for Williams’ and recently filed a motion to have the Canadian musician forced into court. Cuniff’s report says that as service providers attempted to serve the deposition papers, however, they were turned away by Drake’s security. Reportedly, the guards repeatedly stated “no one’s being served,” turning the process servers away.

Padilla reportedly cited in the motion:
“Apparently, Drake’s staff believes that physically kicking the subpoena is a legally sound way of refusing service,”
It’s unclear if the “Views” rapper will appear for the deposition scheduled for this coming Friday (Feb. 24). Cunniff notes that a judge did agree with Drake’s lawyers that he shouldn’t have to testify. However, it was expected that his legal team would work with the defendant’s lawyers to secure the deposition. Padilla has reportedly asked again for the judge to hold Drake in contempt if he bails on the deposition.
