Rapper Hurricane Chris Found Not Guilty In 2nd Degree Murder Trial
Rapper Hurricane Chris has been acquitted of all counts in his murder trial.
A Caddo District County jury found the rapper not guilty of second-degree murder and possession of stolen things.
He spoke on the verdict in a recently released statement and said,
“Tonight, I was found not guilty of second degree murder and illegal possession of stolen things.
I wanna thank God, my attorneys at the Washington & Wells Law Firm, and my family for standing with me as my life was on the line. They wanted to give me life if I was found guilty. Now I can hug my son and think about raising him to be a man, he expressed.”
As you may recall, he was arrested and indicted in connection to a fatal shooting that took place in June 2020 at a gas station in Shreveport, Louisiana. However, when Hurricane Chris, born Christopher Dooley, was arrested by police, he claimed that the shooting was in self-defense.

According to the rapper, the victim, Danzeria Farris Jr., was attempting to steal his vehicle while he was in the Texaco gas station. Hurricane Chris shot Farris multiple times during the incident. Initially, officers said the video footage seemed to conflict with Hurricane Chris’ recollection of the events and that the vehicle he was in was actually stolen.
The 31-year-old has always maintained his innocence. He shared a video with his fans and followers soon after the incident and said,
“Hello world, hello world, hello world. I’m sure you got the news by. now. I was involved in a very unfortunate incident on Friday morning…a very unfortunate incident. I want to thank everybody who’s been praying for the family of the deceased, and everybody who’s been praying for my family. After a good thorough investigation, my name will be cleared. let God work, watch God work. God bless. Thank you.”

Hurricane Chris first caught everybody’s attention with his 2007 hit single “A Bay Bay.” At the time he was just a young adult from Shreveport, but once the song started making its rounds he began to chart on Billboard.
Two years later, he released his next hot song named after the one and only Halle Berry. “Halle Berry (She’s Fine)” also charted on Billboard.
Even after his indictment in 2020, Hurricane Chris did not let that discourage him from continuing to make music. In fact, “A Bay Bay” resurfaced on TikTok after an artist named Khia Bhn remixed it.
