Shaquille O’Neal Finally Served In FTX Lawsuit Following Months Of Allegedly Dodging The Legal Document

The law has finally caught up with NBA star Shaquille O’Neal. 

After months of reportedly evading plaintiffs’ attempts to serve him in the FTX crypto lawsuit, Shaquille O’Neal has reportedly accepted the legal documents.

As we previously reported, the retired NBA star is among a list of celebs that were recently sued by investors for their involvement with the bankrupt crypto exchange company FTX.

Other defendants in the case are Tom Brady and his ex-wife Giselle Bunchden, Steph Curry, and tennis star Naomi Osaka. Shaquille O’Neal, 51, however, has allegedly been dodging and refusing plaintiffs whenever they tried to serve him the papers. Adam Moskowitz of Moskowitz Law Firm, who is representing the investors in the class action suit, announced the update this past Sunday (April 16th), writing:

“UPDATE: Plaintiffs in the billion $ FTX class action case just served @SHAQ outside his house. His home video cameras recorded our service and we made it very clear that he is not to destroy or erase any of these security tapes, because they must be preserved for our lawsuit.”

Though the suit was formally launched three months ago, all efforts to serve O’Neal, up until this point, have been unsuccessful. Reportedly, security at the TNT studio in Atlanta, where the former Lakers star works, repeatedly rejected the documents. Additionally, lawyers claimed Shaq refused to answer his door at home. Moskowitz reportedly called the situation a “silly sideshow,” adding:

“We were mainly just disappointed by Mr. O’Neal’s actions, because he has done so many wonderful volunteer efforts, for the police in Florida, as well as here in Miami…It was such a disappointment to waste so much time and resources on this sideshow and hope Mr. O’Neal hires counsel and just follows the law.”

Since FTX went under, O’Neal has been attempting to put some distance between himself and the crypto company. Back in December, he reportedly told news outlets:

“A lot of people think I’m involved, but I was just a paid spokesperson for a commercial,”
