Kanye West’s $57M Malibu Mansion Reportedly Rotting Away After Shutting Down His Construction Company
Kanye West’s $57 million Malibu dream home may never be completed.
According to reports, Kanye West’s Japanese-inspired property in Malibu, California could be permanently left to rot away after he shut down his construction company, Yeezy Construction, Inc., last November.

Reportedly, the property, which he purchased in September 2021, has been left gutted in mid-renovation ever since the rapper canceled contractors from working on the home. The beach house currently has no windows. It also has not been painted, leaving both the interior and exterior bare to its foundation.
Kanye West’s Malibu mansion was reportedly designed by his favorite architect Tadao Ando. While the property was meant to be “part house, part sculpture,” the 45-year-old stripped the entire home down, leaving it as a concrete space with rusting balconies. There are also utility pipes underneath the property that have been left alongside the beach, according to reports.
West set up his construction company in Wyoming last August, where he bought a $14 million ranch, which is rumored to be rotting away as well.
In addition to one of his million-dollar homes crumbling away, the former billionaire is facing a 7-figure lawsuit.

As previously reported, West is being sued by his former partner company, The Gap, for $2 million over allegedly breaching their contract.
The lawsuit against West comes after a commercial company named Art City Center sued The Gap. Reportedly, The Gap made a one-year lease with the company, which prohibited the retailer from making any changes to the Los Angeles-based building without approval.
However, according to the suit, Gap “completed numerous, significant, unapproved modifications” to the property and it has not been repaired to its original condition.
Gap has since denied the claims from Art City and filed a countersuit against West’s clothing line, Yeezy, and the businessman personally.

Gap alleged its contract with the “Donda Chant” rapper had specific provisions, noting Gap would not be held responsible for any claims brought due to West’s acts. The clothing retailer said West made various alterations to the building without its approval.
Gap’s suit read:
“by making and not repairing or restoring the foregoing alterations of the Premises that [Kanye] made without Gap’s participation or approval, [Kanye] breached the Strategic Agreement and directly and proximately caused Gap to incur expenses to repair and restore the premises.”
Gap reportedly wants West to be held liable for all damages owed to Art City.
