Martha Stewart Seemingly Doubles Down After Facing Backlash For Saying America Will ‘Go Down The Drain’ If Employee Remote Work Continues: ‘I Just Don’t Agree w/ It’
Martha Stewart is standing 10 toes down on her opinion about working remotely.
During a recent interview on “The Today Show,” Martha Stewart expounded on her comments about working from home and how she is against it.
The famous cook explained that her ideal work setting requires you to be in-person and collaborative. She also argued that working remotely isn’t efficient.
” I can’t stomach another zoom [meeting]. Zoom here, zoom there. It just doesn’t get the work done in the right way. So meeting in person, coming to the office–I hate going to an office that’s empty…..I just don’t agree with it, I just don’t.”
Martha Stewart continued, explaining that she’s afraid remote work is here to stay.
She said,
“Its frightening because if you read the economic news and look at whats happening everywhere in the world, a three day work week doesn’t get the work done, doesn’t get the productivity up. Doesn’t help with the economy and I think that’s very important.”

Martha Stewart recently made headlines when she publicly denounced working from home, noting that America will ‘go down the drain’ if remote work continues.
In a previous interview, the TV personality said,
“You can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely.”
She then compared the productivity level of the U.S. to France, saying the latter is “not a very thriving country.”
“Look at the success of France with their stupid…you know, off for August, blah blah blah. That’s not a very thriving country.”
Stewart continued,
“Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?”
Stewart added that she was on a “rampage” to get people across the U.S. back into the office.
