Update: ‘Abbott Elementary’ Star Tyler James Williams Granted Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker Who Showed Up At His Home Unannounced After Traveling ‘Over 2200 Miles’
Update: (Sep 21, 2023): Beloved actor Tyler James Williams has finally been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who has allegedly been stalking him.
As previously reported, the individual initially started off his harassment by sending Tyler James Williams several unwanted messages on social media. Allegedly, the man then took his strange behavior to the next level and “traveled over 2200 miles” to the entertainer’s home. Once there, he proceeded to ring the doorbell “at least 30 times over a 4-hour period,” according to Williams’ complaint.
The legal document also noted that the man, referred to as John Doe in the case, warned he would return if he wasn’t allowed into Williams’ residence.
Thankfully, the judge over the case took the threat seriously and, according to RadarOnline, gave the okay for the protection order. Reportedly, the temporary restraining order will remain in effect until next month when a follow-up hearing has been scheduled. There, the judge will determine if the order should be made permanent or not.
Original Story: (Sep 14, 2023): Actor Tyler James Williams is taking legal action against an obsessed fan.
According to reports, the Golden Globe Award winner recently submitted paperwork to get a restraining order against a man he described as “unstable” and “delusional.”

Reportedly, Tyler James Williams, 30, submitted the legal docs after catching the assailant via ring camera trespassing at his place of residence. According to the TV star, the man began harassing him by sending several unwanted messages on social media. The individual then allegedly escalated the situation by showing up at Tyler James Williams’ home.
Williams reportedly wrote in the request:
“On September l, 2023, (the man) trespassed into my secure apartment building and continuously rang my ring doorbell at least 30 times over a 4-hour period. He also attempted to open a window adjacent to my front door,”

He added:
“Through an investigation, I learned that he traveled over 2200 miles to contact me and then trespassed inside my secure apartment building. Once inside the building, he repeatedly banged on my door while asking me to open my door. ”
The “Abbott Elementary star further stated that the man, documented as John Doe in the case, warned he would return if Williams did not grant him entry. It seems unclear what encouraged the individual’s behavior. It’s noted in the filing that the man reportedly revealed in direct messages to the TV star that he’s suffered from “past trauma” and “social abandonment,” adding that he had been prescribed medication.
Additionally, Williams stated that he hasn’t returned home since the attempted break-in due to his fear that the man will continue to stalk him and potentially cause him physical harm at some point. It’s also unclear what the man thinks his relationship with the TV actor is exactly.
As we covered earlier this year, Williams shot down speculations that he was gay in a lengthy Instagram post, though he doesn’t suggest the man was under the impression their fictional relationship is romantic.

However, he reportedly did add in the filing:
“He seems unstable and is also delusional since he believes we have a relationship…His messages and erratic behavior have placed me in fear for myself and have caused me to suffer substantial emotional distress. His conduct would “cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress.”

It’s noted in the report that Williams is requesting the man be prevented from coming within 100 yards of him or his apartment. He’s also asked security and staff to kindly reject the man’s efforts to communicate should he return.
The case is reportedly still ongoing as a judge has not yet ruled on the matter.
