Jonathan Majors Seemingly Admits To Physically Abusing Ex Grace Jabbari In Texts Entered Into Evidence: ‘I Fear You Have No Perspective Of What Could Happen If You Go To The Hospital’
Jonathan Majors and his ex reportedly had more than one physical altercation.
As previously reported, Jonathan Majors was arrested in March for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, 30, during an argument over a flirty text he received from another woman. The 34-year-old has adamantly denied Grace Jabbari’s claims, alleging she was the aggressor during the incident. However, text messages shared in court between Jonathan Majors and Grace Jabbari seemingly point at Majors being the abusive one in the relationship.
On Friday (Dec. 8, 2023), during her final day on the stand, Jabbari read for the jury text messages that Majors reportedly sent her in September of last year following another (alleged) attack. According to Jabbari, her ex texted,
“I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital. They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to investigation even if you do lie, and they suspect something.”
Jabbari reportedly cried as she read out loud for the courtroom her response,
“I will tell the doctor I bumped my head.”
Jabbari reportedly became too emotional to finish reading their text exchange, causing Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway to step in and finish the rest of her reply:
“I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger painkillers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you.”
Earlier this week, Jabbari claimed in court that Majors wanted her to behave like late civil rights activist Coretta Scott King or Former First Lady Michelle Obama by “making sacrifices for him.” She also said he would threaten suicide when he became upset with her.
Allegedly, their exchange that took place six months before the March 2023 incident was one of the moments the “Creed III” star claimed he’d take his own life. He reportedly texted Jabbari,
“Last night I considered killing myself versus coming home. I need love too. Or maybe I’m such a monster and horrible man, I don’t deserve it. And I should just kill myself. In this way, my existence is miserable, I want to die.”
The threat was seemingly enough to pressure Jabbari not to seek medical attention, reportedly, she texted her then-boyfriend back,
“I will not go to the doctor if you don’t feel safe with me doing so, or don’t trust me to. I promise you I would never mention you but understand your fear.”
The concerning messages were initially deemed inadmissible, but, following a series of cross-examination questions, the defense ultimately okayed prosecutors using the messages as evidence, according to reports. However, other details of the September 2022 situation were not revealed to the jury as the incident is not allowed to be mentioned during trial.
While the messages were being shared with the court, Majors appeared to not show any emotion and instead, kept his head down with his hands in his lap. If found guilty, the entertainer is facing up to a year in prison.
