Nate Dogg – Mother of Late Rapper’s Son Petitions Court To Allow $3,000 Monthly Child Support Payments To Continue, Says Paperwork Mistake Could End Payout & Cause Financial Detriment For Teen

One of late rapper Nate Dogg’s exes is seeking court intervention about her child support payments.

According to a report from RadarOnline, the mother of his teenage son Jayden is pleading to have the income continue after discovering a paperwork issue could cause serious harm to their finances.

Reportedly, a woman named Shereda Williams filed a court motion recently asking that her child support payment be authorized to continue so she can adequately support her son. Nate Dogg, real name Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, reportedly welcomed a child with her named Jayden, 17, who is finishing out his senior year of high school. The report notes that back in 2006, the singer/rapper was ordered to pay Williams $4,300 monthly, which he continued to do up until he died in 2011. As we reported at the time, Nate passed away following complications from a stroke.

After his death, Williams was reportedly awarded $3,000 monthly from his estate. However, in her recent motion she reportedly claimed that due to an error, the payments are at risk of coming to an end. Seeing as though she allegedly only earns $2,500 monthly, the musician’s ex says she has no room to care for their son on her own. Her lawyers reportedly wrote in the filing:

“after paying her own basic needs of food clothing and shelter, she has no money for the needs of the minor that includes school supplies, travel expenses, Basketball Camp, clothing, and a host of other miscellaneous expenses incurred for the minor as he is a senior in High School scheduled to graduate in 2024.”

Reportedly, Nate Dogg’s estate was worth around $350,000 at the time of his passing, but only $200,000 was left to split among his children after debts were paid. His family members have reportedly been involved in a heated legal battle over the finances, as his son Naijiel Hale has accused the rapper’s widow LaToya Calvin of being responsible for the car accident that caused the stroke and claimed they were separated before his passing though they were never legally divorced.

Calvin is now reportedly looking to sell off the musician’s catalog to continue to support herself and his heirs. Her lawyers reportedly wrote in a filing:

“No less than 4 parties have expressed interest in purchasing either the entire music catalog or in many cases a percentage of the rights, with management control,”

Adding:

“the latter option in particular (in addition to full sale options) should be explored, because she is informed and believes it would both yield substantial immediate case for all the heirs, but also involve a better ongoing professional management team which should improve and increase the performance of the remaining unsold income producing shares that are not sold for all the heirs.”

It’s noted in the report that a judge has yet to rule in Williams‘ child support case or in Calvin’s request to sell his catalog at this time.
