Former ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Star Shangela Accused Of Sexual Assault By Four People Who Claim They Were Too Intoxicated To Consent
Former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Shangela is being accused of committing multiple sexual assault acts by four alleged victims.
According to a recent report, Darius Jeremy “DJ” Pierce, 42, who is known for doubling as famous drag queen Shangela, has been outed by multiple individuals for allegedly either sexually assaulting them or attempting to have sex with them while they were too intoxicated to consent.
All four accusers alleged they were between the ages of 18 and 23 during the purported incidents with DJ Pierce. They also stated they knew the nature of his celebrity status and their night outs with the reality star consisted of late-night drinking into the morning. While DJ Pierce has denied the allegations against him, he admitted to meeting with his accusers during the time of the alleged assaults. However, the four accusers —who all identify as queer — noted they want Pierce to take accountability for the accusations.
One of the accusers claimed Pierce assaulted him, then 37, after their alleged interaction in November 2017 when he was 18. Checri, a London-based musician, said the TV personality attempted anal penetration against his will.
He alleged,
“It was very animalistic, taking advantage of someone.”
Checri furthered,
“I just remember very clearly a sequence of events, which was me being on the bed. Then being sick on the bed, everywhere. [I remember] feeling it, and seeing it, and smelling it. I very viscerally remember that. And then, whilst that was happening, like, an attempt at penetration.”
He added,
“I was so ill that I was throwing up in the bed. It’s not like I was in control of anything that was going on.”
Another accuser, Zachary, who was then 23, claimed Pierce gave him drinks until he blacked out back in 2015. According to Zachary, he woke up to the actor (who was 34 at the time) and an unidentified man attempting to penetrate him.
Zachary recalled,
“I heard Shangela say, ‘Stick it in him,’ and I quickly said ‘No.’” I am pretty sure that [the unidentified man] didn’t do anything, but I passed out again, so I am not positive.”
According to Pierce’s lawyer Andrew Brettler, the drag queen has deemed the allegations false. In a legal document, his lawyer claimed that there were “significant problems with purported accusers’ accounts.” Andrew Brettler also said that Pierce “adamantly denies ever engaging in nonconsensual sex.”
