Alec Baldwin Smacks Phone Out Of Woman’s Hand After She Presses Him To Say ‘Free Palestine,’ Grills Him About Fatal ‘Rust’ Shooting: ‘Why Did You Kill That Lady?’
Alec Baldwin was over it.
In a viral video, the 66-year-old actor is seen in a coffee shop when a woman approaches him and begins recording. Alec Baldwin, who is on his phone at the beginning of the clip, hangs up and walks toward the door. At the same time, the woman repeatedly tells Alec Baldwin to show support for Palestine amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.
She asks,
“Alec, can you please say ‘Free Palestine’ one time?”
As Baldwin heads for the door, he holds it open and motions for the woman to leave the establishment. Instead, she continues,
“Free Palestine, Alec, just one time, and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone, I swear. Just say ‘Free Palestine’ one time, one time.”
Shaking his head “No,” Baldwin makes it clear he’s not here for her request. She then references his legal woes. In October 2021, he fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while using a prop gun on the set of the movie Rust in New Mexico. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and maintains he didn’t know the gun had real ammunition. He pleaded not guilty and his trial is expected to start in July. Meanwhile, the weapons supervisor on set, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was convicted and recently sentenced to 18 months in prison.
In the video, the woman continues,
“Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and got no jail time.”
Despite a worker trying to stop the woman, she continues taunting Baldwin.
“You know he’s a criminal, you know he’s a f*cking criminal.”
She keeps pleading with him to say “Free Palestine” before Baldwin asks the worker, “Can you do me a favor?” He then smacks the phone out of the woman’s hand, causing the video to end.
