Soulja Boy Says He’s ‘Disappointed’ w/ Drake & Seemingly Ridicules Him Over Lack Of Support During Kendrick Lamar Feud
Rap star Soulja Boy is calling out his colleague Drake.
The “Crank Dat” artist stated that he was “disappointed” in the Canadian musician, and seemingly ridiculed Drake over his rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.

In a string of messages posted to his X (formerly Twitter) account today (July 16), Soulja Boy wrote:
“Swag Season July 28 never let a n***a try me like I’m drake”

He added in another post:
“You disappointed me. @Drake”

And followed up with:
“Doing all them weak a** songs with them n****z look where It got u none of them n****z you collab with or took on tour had yo back @Drake”

Though not directly mentioned, it appears that Soulja Boy was referencing Drake being called out by several music stars amid his recent exchange with Kendrick Lamar. If you recall, the For All The Dogs hitmaker took shots from and responded to quite a few of his fellow rappers throughout the ordeal who were once collaborators of his, including Rick Ross and The Weeknd.

As Soulja Boy mentioned, Drake was slammed by rappers who he’s previously made chart-topping singles and toured with at a time when he received a wealth of public support. While Soulja remained mostly quiet during the rap beef, this isn’t the first time he has publicly taken issue with Drake.

Soulja previously accused Drake of stealing his lyrics and flow in 2019 during an interview with The Breakfast Club. On the episode, Soulja addressed how Drizzy appeared to have copied a line from his 2007 single “Wuzhannanan” for the intro to his song “Miss Me,” featured on Drake’s acclaimed debut album Thank Me Later, where he sings:
“I said ‘Tell me what’s really goin’ on’ / Drizzy back up in this thing, I’m ready, what’s hannenin’?
Soulja subsequently claimed that Drake told him that he was “paying homage” with the lyric, though Soulja admitted that the situation didn’t sit right with him. He stated in a later interview:
“He wasn’t honoring nothing cause he ain’t shout me out. Why he ain’t say my name? Why y’all didn’t know that that was my bar until [last week] when I said it,”
It does not appear that Drake has responded to Soulja’s recent remarks about him publicly at this time.
