Barack Obama & Michelle Obama Officially Endorse Kamala Harris For President: ‘This Is Going To Be Historic’

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are officially Team Kamala Harris!

The former POTUS and FLOTUS officially endorsed Kamala Harris in her bid for President.

In a video shared on Kamala Harris’ campaign YouTube channel, she is seen walking as she gets a call from Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

She expresses excitement that both of them are on the phone before Michelle Obama tells “my girl” Harris,

“I’m proud of you. This is going to be historic.”

Barack Obama continues,

“We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and to do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office.”

Kamala tells the two,

“This means so much to me. I can’t wait to do this with you, [my husband] Doug and I both…getting out there, being on the road. But most of all I just want to tell you, the words you have spoken and the friendship you have given over all these years mean more than I can express. Thank you both, it means so much. And we’re gonna have some fun with this too, aren’t we?”

Barack Obama shared a similar sentiment when he posted the video to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, writing,

Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.”

The anticipated endorsement ironically comes after Donald Trump, who is the Republican candidate for President, backed out of a scheduled debate. He was initially going to go against President Joe Biden before he exited the race amid widespread concern for his health and capacity to serve. Vice President Harris then stepped in as the presumptive Democratic nominee as Joe Biden quickly endorsed her.

In Donald Trump’s announcement that he would not debate Harris, written by his campaign’s Communication Director Steven Cheung, he claimed that Barack Obama didn’t support Harris’ campaign.

“Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee. There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party – namely Barack Hussein Obama – that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone “better.”

The statement continues,

“Therefore, it wold not be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds.”

Meanwhile, the support for Harris continues. After the Win With Black Women and Win With Black Men organizations each raised over $1 million for Harris’ campaign, White Women for Kamala Harris held a Zoom call with more than 100,000 participants.

One user on X said she was in the virtual meeting with 136,000 other women, including singer P!nk. They reportedly raised $1 million in 30 minutes.
