Justin Timberlake Pleads Not Guilty To DWI During Virtual Court Appearance, Suspended From Driving In New York
Update (Aug. 2, 2024): Justin Timberlake insists he was not intoxicated when he was stopped and arrested for a DWI in June.
He entered a not-guilty plea to a revised misdemeanor charge of drunk driving during a virtual court appearance earlier today (Friday, Aug. 2). He couldn’t physically attend as he’s in Europe for his Forget Tomorrow World Tour and is scheduled to hit the stage in Belgium tomorrow (Saturday, Aug. 3).
Meanwhile, Justice Carl Irace suspended his license, so he’s not allowed to drive in New York pending his hearing next Friday (Aug. 9).
Original Story (July 29, 2024): Justin Timberlake‘s attorney is maintaining his innocence.
Over a month after the 43-year-old singer and actor was arrested for a DWI, his lawyer Edward Burke said following a procedural conference on Friday (July 26),
“He was not intoxicated. I’ll say it again. Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated.”
Burke said, according to the Associated Press, that he wants the charge tossed out, claiming police made “very significant errors” when submitting paperwork.

“The facts and circumstance of the case have not been changed or amended.”
“The police made a number of very significant errors in this case. In court today, you heard the district attorney try to fix one of those errors. But that’s just one and there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes and this is just one of those instances.”
“We stand ready to litigate the underlying facts of this case in court, rather than in the press.”

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”
Sag Harbor Village Justice Justice Carl Irace ruled that Timberlake can be re-arraigned on Friday, Aug. 2, with he proper documents.
