Update: (Sep. 9, 2024): Welp, looks like Tyrese was able to avoid doing major time behind bars over the back child support owed to his ex-wife Samantha Lee.

Journalist Dennis Byron, who was reportedly present for Tyrese’s court hearing today, shared on X that the celeb “has miraculously found the money he owes to his ex-wife Samantha Gibson and is arranging for it to be paid right now.”

The post added,

“He will likely be home for dinner.”

According to reports, Tyrese was previously ordered to pay Samantha $10,000 monthly to help with the needs of their child. However, Tyrese refused to pay the full amount and instead has been giving his ex around $2,200 each month. Due to his stubbornness, he racked up a bill of $73,000 (including $7,500 for Samantha’s attorney fees).

According to The Neighborhood Talk, Tyrese was taken into custody this morning (Sept. 9) for failure to pay child support. The purported incident comes one day after the celeb warned he would more than likely be arrested during today’s court hearing over an ongoing child support dispute with his ex-wife Samantha Lee. In the now-deleted post, Tyrese claimed,

“We are APPEALLING (sic) ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND ALREADY HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS JUDGE THROWN OFF THE BENCH TWICE. The second time we tried to get him recused from the bench. [ He actually denied his own request to be thrown off the bench] …imagine that???”

He added,

“It’s pretty clear that they hate my guts, but I must remind them and everything about my life and my success. I’ve worked my ass off since I was 14 years old to get here,” he added. “#FamilyLawCourts are the WORST TOWARDS FATHERS.”

In a follow-up post seemingly shared moments before the court hearing kicked off today, he added,

“The love that a father can have for his children can’t quite be explained……. Whatever the outcome is today…… I am and will forever be their FATHER……..”
