‘Love Is Blind’ Star Tim Godbee Claims He Was ‘Manipulated’ & ‘Shown No Serious Effort’ Amid Breakup w/ Fiancée Alex Byrd
Love Is Blind season 7 star Tim Godbee is speaking out amid backlash from his breakup with fiancée Alex Byrd.
Across several social media posts, the 33-year-old defended his actions in light of recently released episodes that saw him call off his engagement to Byrd, 33, after she fell asleep following meeting his family.
Godbee alleged that despite his best efforts, ongoing arguments with Byrd – many of which he said happened off camera – and her alleged unwillingness to compromise on important marriage qualities ultimately caused the relationship to collapse.
He wrote in one post:
“When love, authenticity and respect are consistently met with lack of effort, constant antagonizing and lack of respect for your physical and mental space, it must be met with firm and unmistakable terms…There is much left out from our story, some of which out of an attempt to protect something I once held dear.”
He added:
“Through hours of tough conversations that weren’t seen, I made the decision to remove myself from what felt like a toxic situation where I was being manipulated and given no serious effort from my partner…I truly believe if someone displayed the same behavior to a partner and the genders [were] reversed, the conversation around our story would be entirely different.”

Godbee went on to share several other posts and text message exchanges to support his claims.
Byrd hasn’t directly commented on the situation. She did write in a since-deleted Instagram Story, however, that she’s looking forward to the reunion episode and for “alllll the truth to come out.”
Episodes 1-11 of season 7 are currently streaming on Netflix, with the finale dropping Wednesday, Oct. 23, and the reunion on Oct. 30 at 9 p.m. ET.
