Colin Kaepernick Says He Hasn’t Watched An NFL Game In 8 Years: ‘I’m Not Gonna Support In That Way’
Former NFL star Colin Kaepernick isn’t letting up on his protest of the league.
During an appearance at the WSJ Tech Live Conference in California this week, the 36-year-old was asked if he’s watching “the NFL much lately,” to which he responded:
“I haven’t watched a game in 8 years.”
Noting that he “still checks” player’s stats, however, he continued:
“It also informs who my agent reaches out to…I don’t ever turn a game on though, because I’m not gonna support in that way, but I need to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening with quarterbacks out there.”

Colin Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played a game in the league professionally since 2016. The former San Francisco 49ers QB was allegedly pushed out after he began kneeling on national TV games in protest of police violence against minorities in the country.
He settled a grievance with the NFL in 2019 after accusing team owners of colluding to keep him out of the league over the matter.
Despite it being several years since his exit, Colin Kaepernick said he keeps himself prepared in case he gets another opportunity to become a starting quarterback again. He stated:
“I still wake up every morning and train….I get up at 3:30 a.m. and I start my workday and then I go do my training… I still train every day, I still train the way I was when I was playing, making sure that I’m ready at any given moment.”
