Drake Files Second Action Against UMG, Claims Company Defamed Him By Releasing Kendrick’s ‘Not Like Us’
Drake isn’t done calling out UMG.
Billboard reports that he’s taken more legal action against Universal Music Group, this time accusing the company of defamation.
Get this, Drake is reportedly upset that UMG did nothing to stop the release of Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss record ‘Not Like Us,’ which he says obtains a line of Kendrick “falsely accusing him of being a sex offender.”

The new filing also claims UMG “funneled payments” to iHeart as part of a “pay-to-play scheme” to promote the K-Dot’s song on radio.
In the pre-action filing, Drake’s lawyers write,
“UMG … could have refused to release or distribute the song or required the offending material to be edited and/or removed. But UMG chose to do the opposite. UMG designed, financed and then executed a plan to turn ‘Not Like Us’ into a viral mega-hit with the intent of using the spectacle of harm to Drake and his businesses to drive consumer hysteria and, of course, massive revenues. That plan succeeded, likely beyond UMG’s wildest expectations.”
Whew chile, guess Drake isn’t as unbothered as he once claimed to be.
