The earthquake caused widespread destruction, including significant damage to approximately 1,000 homes, as confirmed by state media and the Tibet earthquake relief headquarters. Aftershocks were felt across the high-altitude region of western China and extended into neighboring Nepal, with tremors also reported in parts of India, according to the Associated Press.
