LeBron James Admits NFL Beat NBA In Christmas Day Ratings, Says Beyoncé Played A Key Role
LeBron James is owning up to the NFL’s Christmas Day ratings victory, admitting they outperformed the NBA—thanks in part to Beyoncé’s star power.
The basketball star spoke on the matter in a recent conversation with NFL brothers Jason and Travis Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast, stating:
“I saw the f*ing numbers after the fact. You guys kicked our a**, OK? From a viewership standpoint, you kicked our a**.”
He added:
“The games weren’t as great as they should have been, but when you have f*ing Beyoncé come out there, Pat Mahomes and Travis, and you guys go out there and kick Pittsburgh’s a** [then]…”

After securing a win with the Lakers on Christmas, LeBron called out the NFL for hosting their first-ever Christmas Day games, declaring that the day “belonged to the NBA,” as it traditionally had.
However, the numbers reportedly told a different story. The NFL pulled in 65 million U.S. viewers across its two games, overshadowing the NBA’s five-game lineup.
LeBron ultimately laughed off the loss, playfully acknowledging the NFL’s dominance, calling the NBA the “little brother.”
