Shaq Sides w/ Miami Heat Star Jimmy Butler In Heated Debate w/ ‘NBA On TNT’ Co-Hosts
Things got heated on NBA On TNT when Shaquille O’Neal defended Jimmy Butler’s frustration with the Miami Heat, while the rest of the panel disagreed.
Jimmy Butler, unhappy after not receiving the $113 million extension he hoped for, missed a team flight to Milwaukee, which led to a two-game suspension for “insubordinate conduct.” This came after he had already served a seven-game suspension for similar issues.
During the debate on Thursday’s (Jan. 23) episode of NBA on TNT, Shaq stood by Jimmy Butler, suggesting that if a player feels unappreciated, they have every right to be frustrated with the team. He argued that Butler shouldn’t be expected to stay with a team that doesn’t show him the respect he deserves. However, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson pushed back, insisting that Butler should act professionally and honor his contract despite his dissatisfaction.
