Young Dolph – Charges Dropped For 5th Suspect In Rapper’s Murder Case Just One Day After Arrest
Shundale Barnett, 30, has had all charges dismissed in connection to the 2021 murder of Memphis rapper Young Dolph.
Barnett was arrested on Monday and initially charged with first-degree murder, accessory after the fact, and other crimes. However, by Tuesday afternoon, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the charges had been dropped.

Erica Williams from the DA’s office clarified that Barnett was initially charged based on his presence with Justin Johnson at the time of his arrest in Indiana. But after further investigation, authorities determined he had no involvement in the crime.
The charge against Barnett was formally withdrawn, although a clerical error had delayed the dismissal.
Barnett is the fifth person tied to the case. Johnson has already been convicted of first-degree murder, while other suspects remain in court proceedings.
