A revamp of the iconic 1992 romance thriller The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, is officially in the works at Warner Bros.!
Network execs confirmed that the remake is moving forward with Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour director Sam Wrench attached to direct, while Juror No. 2 writer Jonathan A. Abrams is set to pen the script. No other details about plot or casting have been revealed at this time.

According to Deadline, the studio hopes to recapture some of the massive success of the original film, which earned $411 million at the global box office and scored two Oscar nominations.
The original story follows Frank Farmer (Costner), a former Secret Service agent hired to protect R&B superstar Rachel Marron (Houston) during the peak of her fame. As a dangerous stalker threatens Rachel’s life, a dramatic love story unfolds—culminating in an unforgettable, emotional climax at the Academy Awards.
