FDA Reportedly Failed To Publicize Deadly Lettuce E. Coli Outbreak That Hit 15 States
Now why didn’t the FDA tell us? According to PEOPLE, a deadly E. coli outbreak tied to romaine lettuce spread across 15 states from November to February. Over 80 people got sick, at least one person died, and the FDA never issued a public warning.
The lettuce reportedly came from a catering company that used Taylor Farms produce, though the company has denied any connection. Meanwhile, families are suing, and the internet is wondering why the public was kept in the dark.
Health experts say the contaminated lettuce was no longer in stores by the time it was traced, which is why no alert went out. Still, the silence is concerning.
Did the people have a right to know?
