‘SNL’ Faces Backlash For ‘Two Bitches vs. a Gorilla’ Skit Featuring Quinta Brunson
Comedy is in the ear of the beholder.
Saturday Night Live is receiving backlash for its take on the online debate: could 100 men defeat one gorilla in a physical dispute? In a comedy sketch captioned “two bitches vs. a gorilla,” SNL’s guest host Quinta Brunson and main cast member Ego Nwodim portrayed two friends who purposely crossed the protection barrier at a zoo to confront a gorilla.
What was meant to be a lighthearted joke didn’t land too well with many netizens (internet citizens). One person on X wrote,
“Incredibly offensive and ignorant to address any woman as a BITCH from an entire television network. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, OVER THERE?”

Another critic added,
“How to ruin the joke 101… it’s over now”
Some did come to SNL’s defense, arguing that the joke and caption weren’t problematic.
What are your thoughts? Did you find the comedy sketch to be funny or offensive?
