‘Beyond The Gates,’ The First Black-Led Daytime Soap In 35 Years, Gets Renewed For Season 2
Beyond The Gates isn’t going anywhere.
CBS has renewed the daytime soap for a second season, continuing its groundbreaking run as the first Black-led daytime soap opera in nearly 35 years. Created by Michele Val Jean, the series has proven to be a hit with audiences, up 67% in multi-platform viewership from last year’s time slot and even topping General Hospital by 7% among women 25 to 54 on broadcast, according to Nielsen.
