1501 Certified Ent. CEO Carl Crawford Praises Former Artist Megan Thee Stallion After Receiving New RIAA Plaques
Looks like Carl Crawford is in his drama-free era.
In a new IG post, the CEO of 1501 Certified Entertainment showed off his new RIAA Plaques earned thanks to the success of records from his former artist, Megan Thee Stallion. Touching on their soured relationship, Carl captioned the post,
“Shoutout to Megan Thee Stallion. We had a little rough patch, but real ones always push through.”

The “little rough patch” seems to refer to the years-long legal dispute that came after 1501 Certified Ent. refused to renegotiate Megan’s contract in 2020. One major disagreement between the parties was which projects released by Megan counted as full albums to satisfy the requirements of the initial contract. Amid the back-and-forth, Megan was granted a temporary restraining order against 1501 and her then-distributor, 300 Entertainment, after they tried to block her from using her own music for promotional purposes.
In 2023, it was confirmed that:
“Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Certified are pleased to announce that they have mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences, […] As part of the arrangement, both parties have agreed to amicably part ways.”
Guess you can say time and a few plaques heal all wounds.
