In court docs, Simmons claims HBO “disregarded or suppressed” over 20 witnesses who allegedly refuted the claims against him. He also says nine favorable “CIA-grade polygraph” results were ignored by the filmmakers and executives at WarnerMedia.
Simmons adds that civil rights leaders and members of Congress urged HBO to review evidence supporting his denials, and he specifically mentions Oprah Winfrey, saying she was originally an executive producer but later backed out of the project after “publicly noting inconsistencies in the accusations.”
