TSA Reportedly Ending Shoe Removal Policy At Select Airports
You might be able to keep your shoes on next time you fly.
As first reported by travel blog Gate Access, TSA is rolling out a new policy at select airports allowing travelers to keep their shoes on while going through security.
While the TSA hasn’t formally announced the change, officials said in a recent press release that the agency is “exploring new and innovative ways to enhance the passenger experience and our strong security posture.”

The shoe rule has been in place since 2006, following the 2001 attempted shoe bombing by Richard Reid, who failed to ignite explosives hidden in his shoes on a flight from Paris to Miami.
