Kendrick Lamar’s Historic Super Bowl Performance Lands 4 Emmy Nods
Kendrick Lamar’s blockbuster Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show is now up for four Primetime Emmy Awards, the Television Academy revealed Tuesday. Produced by Roc Nation and Jesse Collins Entertainment, Lamar’s set reached a record-breaking 133.5 million viewers.
This isn’t Lamar’s first brush with Emmy history. Back in 2022, he was part of the first Super Bowl Halftime Show to win an Emmy, sharing the stage with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige at SoFi Stadium.
This year, Lamar faces stiff competition. Beyoncé, who headlined the halftime show during the Ravens-Texans Christmas Day game, is also nominated in the same category: Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Winners will be announced during the Creative Arts Emmys on September 6 and 7, ahead of the Primetime Emmy broadcast on September 14 on CBS.
Will you be tuning in to see if Kendrick takes home the trophy?
