Diddy Denied Bail As Judge Rules No ‘Exceptional Reasons’ Justify Release Ahead Of Sentencing
Diddy will remain behind bars after a federal judge denied his latest attempt at securing bail.
On Monday, court reporter Meghan Cuniff shared the ruling from Judge Arun Subramanian, who firmly rejected the music mogul’s request for release ahead of his October sentencing.
“Even if the flight-or-danger requirement was satisfied, there are no ‘exceptional reasons’ warranting a departure from what Congress has required,” the judge wrote in his decision.
Diddy’s legal team had pushed for bail with proposed conditions and an increased bond, but the court remained unmoved.
“Increasing the amount of the bond or devising additional conditions doesn’t change the calculus given the circumstances and heavy burden of proof that Combs bears,” Subramanian added.
Diddy, who was acquitted of the most serious trafficking charges last month, remains in custody on lesser prostitution counts. His team has not yet issued a public response to the decision.
