NBA Star Malik Beasley No Longer Target Of Federal Gambling Investigation
Malik Beasley is off the hook.
It has been reported that the NBA star is no longer a target in a federal gambling investigation conducted by the Eastern District of New York.
His attorney, Steve Haney, said,
“Months after this investigation commenced, Malik remains uncharged and is not the target of this investigation. An allegation with no charge, indictment or conviction should never have the catastrophic consequence this has caused Malik. This has literally been the opposite of the presumption of innocence.”
The allegations centered on Beasley betting on NBA games during the 2023-24 season, which froze his free agency negotiations just as he was expected to finalize a three-year, $42 million deal with the Detroit Pistons.
