Comedian Na’im Lynn Says Real Husbands Of Hollywood Was Originally His Idea, Suggests Kevin Hart Didn’t Support His Film Career

Comedian Na’im Lynn is opening up about what he believes is an overlooked chapter in the history of Real Husbands of Hollywood.

During a recent podcast appearance on @tfu.podcast , Lynn claimed the hit BET comedy series was originally inspired by an idea he came up with before the show was ultimately developed by producer and writer Chris Spencer. According to Lynn, he envisioned a different concept long before Real Husbands of Hollywood became a television hit starring Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin and others.

While discussing the show’s origins, Lynn suggested that the final version evolved into “something else” from the concept he initially had in mind. He did not accuse anyone of stealing his idea, but maintained that the project’s foundation began with conversations and creative concepts he shared before the series came to fruition.

Lynn also appeared to address his longtime friendship and professional relationship with Kevin Hart. During the conversation, the comedian hinted that Hart was not particularly supportive when it came to helping advance his film career, despite the pair working together for years. He did say he is supportive when it comes to comedy.

The comments have already sparked debate online, with some fans questioning whether Lynn deserves more recognition for his role in the show’s early development, while others defended Hart and pointed to the comedian’s history of helping fellow comics secure opportunities in entertainment.

Real Husbands of Hollywood premiered in 2013 and quickly became one of the network’s most successful scripted series, earning praise for its celebrity cameos and satirical take on Hollywood culture. Neither Chris Spencer nor Kevin Hart have publicly responded to Lynn’s recent remarks.
