Comedian Michael Colyar Reveals He Used Crack Cocaine For 23 Years

Comedian and actor Michael Colyar is opening up about his decades-long battle with crack and the unconventional way he says he was able to overcome his addiction.

During a recent appearance on the TFU Podcast, Colyar revealed that he used crack cocaine for 23 years before turning to God for help. According to the entertainer, he prayed for a very specific form of accountability, asking God to make him physically ill if he ever tried to use the drug again.

Colyar said his prayer was answered in an unexpected way. He explained that whenever he went to the places where he previously bought crack cocaine, he would suddenly become extremely gassy and begin passing gas, making him too uncomfortable to stay.

The comedian said those experiences kept him from returning to the drug and ultimately helped him maintain his sobriety. Looking back, Colyar credited his faith with changing the course of his life, saying he believes God answered his prayer in exactly the way he needed.
