Yung Miami Addresses LisaRaye McCoy Initially Showing Love To “Spend Dat” Before Turning Around & Slamming Hit Record
Yung Miami is addressing #LisaRayeMcCoy’s apparent change of heart about her viral “Spend Dat” record.
The former City Girls rapper, who is gearing up to release her debut solo album “Watch Dis” next Friday (Oct. 23), sat down with radio personality Lore’l of “The Morning Hustle,” where she weighed in on criticism from “The Players Club” actress. ICYMI: Miami paid homage to the 1998 film in the music video for “Spend Dat,” drawing inspiration from the movie that featured LisaRaye in her breakout role as Diamond. While LisaRaye initially showed love for the record, even posting content of herself dancing to the track, she later changed her tune, clarifying that she wasn’t a fan of the song’s message.
Addressing the apparent switch-up, Miami questioned the criticism, saying, “To say that about a song and you did a whole – you was Diamond in ‘The Players Club,’ what are we talking about?” Despite her reaction, #YungMiami still gave LisaRaye her flowers for the iconic role, acknowledging that she “did good” portraying Diamond.
