Rapper ‘The Game’ In Trouble for Tweeting the Compton Sheriff’s Number

On Saturday (August 13) afternoon rapper The Game randomly decided that he wanted to hire an intern…or pretend to hire an intern. So he hopped on twitter and began posting statuses about what his followers should do in order to be considered for an internship with him. Apparently, one of his tweets provided a number for applicants to call and ask for details. The problem is that the tweet gave the number to the Compton Sheriff’s Office instead of The Game’s Office. That particular tweet was erased but here are some other ones he posted about the supposed internship.

According to TMZ, people began calling the sheriff’s number around 5:20 PM. The calls were so constant that the deputies believe it backed up the phone lines and made it hard for people with real emergencies to get through to the sheriffs. The calls did not stop until around 8:00 PM. When the deputies figured out that The Game had misled his followers, Capt. Mike Parker tweeted him asking him to erase those tweets and informing him that he might be charged for “delaying or obstructing a peace officer in the performance of their duties.” Here are the officer’s tweets.

In response, The Game made a few jokes about his actions, said the tweet was only a mistake, and also made a “serious” comment about how the officers never do their real job anyway, so he hopes this incident will encourage them to start.

Wow.
