Gayle King Damn Near Calls Wendy Williams A Liar + Wendy Defends Herself

So last week, while doing her “Hot Topics” segment, Wendy Williams shared a letter from Oprah Winfrey, penned to Wendy. According to Wendy, Oprah’s folk wrote in to clarify a rumor that Wendy had reported on. Here’s the video that Wendy read on air. The supposed letter is at the 5:34 mark:
Fast forward and Gayle King may-as-well-have-called-Wendy-a-liar (don’t ask me why I used a million dashes just now). She reportedly said,
“The letter that I heard Wendy read…I know Oprah never wrote a letter to Wendy.”
Gayle King even shared that she confirmed with Oprah that a letter was never sent to Wendy from her or her team. She explained that Oprah said:
“Gayle, you know more than anybody knows that that’s not true.”
And on Monday, Wendy called into the Tom Joyner Morning Show and said:
“I have no reason to lie about this….the only thing I changed about the letter…You could not imagine that this woman just sent the letter out on her own accord.”
Here’s the full audio of Wendy calling in.

It sounds like someone is telling lies that sound like half-truths, but again…who knows! And kinda, who cares…right? [Essence & Huff Post]
