[Video] Willow Smith Addresses Criticism About Hair & Clothes in “I Am Me”

11-year-old Willow Smith gets self reflective in her new song ‘I Am Me’. In the ballad, Willow addresses the public’s criticism of her hair, clothes and self-expression singing:

“People don’t like the way I dress….I dye my hair and it’s just not that easy….Your validation just is not that important to me….”

P.S. Does this video make you more understanding about Willow’s style? Or do you still think short, dyed hair, with a fake tongue ring is still too much for a pre-teen?

I like the fact that she’s a little different, BUT i really feel she should have waited until she had boobs to cut her hair. She looks like Will to the tee

I let my 11 yr old express herself but there should be a limit to one expressing themselves at that age. The Fake tongue ring was a bit over the top, but not crucifiable. All in all, if her parents dont have a problem with it, then there is no problem. EXPRESS YOURSELF BABY!!!

I don’t dislike Willow, i do however believe that a parent is there to do what’s BEST for their child. Children don’t know what’s best for them, thats why they have parents. Will and Jada seem to be allowing their kids to raise themselves. Willow doesn’t know who she is… She a child, not a woman. I don’t care how much they try to covince us that she is.

I’m sorry, I just think she’s over the top with it, and there should be some parental control. Sheesh, I wonder what she’ll be doing at 15. I don’t dislike her but, don’t like her style at all. I know what’s next..,
