K.Michelle Responds to Memphitz’s Lawsuit: I Stand Behind My Story

Although the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta show has come to a close, the drama between cast mate/singer K.Michelle and her former boyfriend, continues. This week, we shared the news that Memphitz (real name Mickey Wright, the husband of Toya Wright) is filing a lawsuit agains Mona Scott Young’s company Monami Entertainment and VH1’s parent company Viacom. Long story short, he’s suing for defamation of character (K.Michelle allegs that Memphitz was physically abusive towards her, while he disputes these claims). According to the lawsuit, he is asking $1 per viewer, per episode that his character has been defamed (one can assume almost the entire 12-episode season), averaging three to four million viewers. One day later, K.Michelle has responded, telling TMZ:
“I’ve always been told that the truth shall set you free. I stand behind my story 100%. I came on the ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ show mainly because I wanted to give a voice and bring light to a very serious issue. I am very grateful to VH1 and Monami Ent. for the opportunity to tell my story, and touch lives worldwide … I look forward to having my day in court and finally having the truth of my story confirmed in a court of law. Hopefully others will not have to go through this and then have their stories challenged to this degree because people now want to try to salvage whatever reputation they may have had.”
She also tweeted a comment about the lawsuit:

Looks like this has the potential to be an ugly battle in court. Stay tuned!

Im going to say something that I know most wont agree with: These reality shows is making it very hard for those who are REALLY suffering from domestic abuse. There is a HUGE difference between women who gets into fights with their male companion and women who are abused by their male companion. Women like Evelynn and K. Michelle seem violent and unstable which is not a trait that is consistently found in abused women. I think they are using whatever experiences they had to add drama to the show. To me it’s an insult to those who are really suffering from domestic abuse and they should be ashamed.
I agree with you. If the alleged allegations are true regarding K. Michelle and Memphitz, the statement she says “I look forward to having my day in court and finally having the truth of my story confirmed in a court of law. ”
Why did she have to wait until she got on TV to have her day in court? So, if she never was on TV and lawsuit was pending against her bread and butter, she never would have brought the matter to court on her own. #tragic
Hes suing her. Hes bringing this to court not her.
A lot of yall are sounding crazy when you have to look how they healed. She been claiming this for years. When she got that voice other than her music and was able to tell her story for the world it became issue. Let me explain this to all of you that money nothing when you mess with my reputation. I was a sexual abused person and I wanted love so much. I took like as love AND GAVE MY COOKIE AWAY TO EASY TO END THAT PAIN. IT TOOK ME TO ME TO LOVE MYSELF. LISTEN TO HER MUSIC…..SOMETHING HAPPEN YOU FEEL
Apparently listening to her “music” rendered you unable to spell, or use grammar properly…
Thats right K Michelle get your reciepts ready for court…Shut him down….lol
WE (the main public) are just hearing abt the story BUT the ppl in the industry have heard sayings abt her story. Once she got on TV it was a wrap. BTW, she NEVER mentioned his name…I had NO clue who she was talking abt until HE said something. SOOOO, you know the saying, a HIT dog HOLLERS
This is new to the public but not to the entertainment industry. Battered people wear their scars differently. Some are coy, some are cowardly and some are crazy. At the end of it all, they are all human and deserve to be heard. She didn’t put his name into until he started calling her a liar. If she wasn’t talking about him (prior to mentioning his name) then why would he care? He told on his self.
No, she dd what she could to spread her legs/ … I mean meaningful message
But why did she have to tweet where to find her statement? She does to much for the public in my opinion. I’m not saying I don’t believe her, but she just eats into every moment for publicity she can. It berates her story in my opinion
All I’m going to say is there is three side to every story hers, his and the actual truth. I hope she wins because different people bring out another side and he probably changed for Toya because of her previous relationship.
That’s the stupidest reason for winning a lawsuit ever ! LOL !
when is the last time that a man has openly admitted to abusing someone? k.michelle is taking a bad expierence and making it positive…..true it was a long time but nothing will erase what happened
Everybody will love this submit, it’s best.
