Reality Star Jackie Christie’s Daughter, Chantel, Defends Herself On Twitter With Long Rant

Reality star Jackie Christie’s daughter, Chantel Christie has taken to Twitter to defend herself against an ambush of tweets that she received after the Basketball Wives’ episode that aired on Monday. If you missed the show, Laura Govan met with Chantel to find out what the rift between her and her mother (Jackie) was about.

Chantel revealed events from her childhood that pretty much threw Jackie’s parenting skills under the bus, saying that she mistreated her older sister, who was always heavier and darker than her. She explained to Laura that she referred to her sister as “the dark overweight one,” and even left her out of family portraits. You know how harsh Twitter can be, and surprisingly, followers were outraged that Chantel would put her family’s business on television and reveal secrets to Laura, who isn’t a fan of Jackie. Chantel addressed viewers negative comments on twitter, with a long (grab a coffee) rant of sorts. She wrote:

“Not that I owe you viewers any explanation. But I will address this for once and for all. Quote me, right it down, take a picture – I don’t give a f-ck.

I was in a bad place in MY life. Was it right? No. Was it “all lies”? No. Was it 4 “publicity”? No. Did I kno where Laura was coming from? NO. Do I regret it? I regret airing my personal life out 2 sm1 who, I now feel, had malicious intent. I regret addressing it publicly, at all. You all can believe WHATEVER you would like to.

I know MY truth. I wake up everyday and I have to live MY life. None of y’all do it for me. Show me a person that has never done something they shouldn’t have. And I’ll show you an angel. I will not call it a mistake because in THAT moment, it was exactly what I wanted to do. Looking back, it NEVER should’ve happened.

And I am woman enough to admit that publicly. But to be ridiculed, disrespected, threatened and bashed… Y’all don’t know me!! Walk a mile in my shoes, and I guarantee you’ll take em off! When all this “reality” Isht is over. When the camera cuts, and production wraps… That is still my Mother. And we have, and will continue to, mend our relationship BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, not for a million ppl to watch, dissect and judge.

@JackieChristie, I love you. & I’m not sure how, but as a FAMILY, I’m sure we’ll get through this. If you’re ready, I’m willing. And to those that have said evil, malicious things to me… I’m praying for you. Not even mad at cha. You can only speak on what you see.”

Now that you’ve heard Chantel’s side of the story, do you think it was necessary for her to defend herself on twitter? And has your perspective of Jackie Christie or Laura shifted at all?

Gurrlll BYE! Don’t take it back now! Even if you didn’t know Laura was evil, the cameras were still there! My issue is that if you HAD to talk someone about the issues, why on tv to a stranger?

I see where everyone is going with this, but I’m on Chantel’s side on this one. The BIGGEST prob with black folk is that everydamn thing has to happen behind closed doors, keep family business a secret, don’t tell nobody, suck it up, deal with it. Until you have a moment like this where a child is so hurt from holding all that ugliness inside that she’s desperate enough to talk to a total strangers, regardless of camaras. While WE are the maine ones to aviod therapy, talking, and counseling we are the main ones that should be using it. That is HER truth, and people may not agree with how she did it, but the focus should be on that she DID do it. She’s no longer carrying that stuff around inside, bc if you do, it will eat at you until you end up hurting yourself trying to make it go away. I’m for anyone who verbalizes their true feelings, and no one should/could take that away from her.

I agree with m&m, I don’t see anything wrong with what she said or how she did it. Laura was the malicious one. But if you recall, her mother reached out to a family therapist to help and feared the daughters would get mad because she brought someone from the outside to help them. So her mother wasn’t against therapy but Wacky Jackie has a hard to admitting her place in the hurt she caused her children. If she did say and do that to the darker skinned daughter, shame on her. That’s something she’s going to have to deal with and come to terms with.

Oh goodness Jackie’s hair is a no no. Chantal did not know Laura didn’t like Jackie. The show was being filmed and Jackie mentioned to Chantal that Laura wanted to talk to her. Please place blame where it belongs on Jackie and Doug’s shoulders.

JACKIE signed them up to put their lives on reality television. Let’s not pick & choose what is “aired” on these shows. If it’s going to be reality then lets talk about the real shit. Chantel was not wrong. If you don’t want your wrongs to be aired for the world to see then don’t do them. People go through this all the time. This can help some mistreated “oddball” child just as much as K. Michelle’s admissions helped the battered women.

Black people always want to keep “family business” in the family. Well where in the hell was the family when Jackie was ruining her children’s lives?

Haha you are dumb cause everything they show is “pick and choose”. How much more of a dumb comment can you make? And for you to say that it wasn’t wrong is bullshit. Everybody but you know it’s wrong… hmmmm lmfao

Good grief…people have to stop being so judgmental…she said what she said and realized after the fact it should have never happened. It happens to everyone! No one is perfect…for anyone to judge Jackie is wrong and for anyone to judge the daughter is wrong…u show me one family or one person who did something in their lives that they feel horrible about or regret

Jackie Christie is despicable if what her daughters are saying are true period. We black people need to stop giving passes to people(black)
Stop making excuses for her. It was wrong and she knows it.Jackie needs to ask them for forgiveness. Period.
