Did the Police Press Charges Against Badu?

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

4. 3.10—>Update: “The city attorney’s office and the Dallas Police Department has decided to charge the entertainer known as Erykah Badu with disorderly conduct. After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct when she disrobed in a public place without disregard to individuals and small children who were close by,” said Sgt. Warren Mitchell.

So, what does Erykah Badu hafta say now that charges were actually pressed? Well, she’s pretty open via twitter:

… i don’t care i still love my city and its people . in fact ALL people . flaws and all . may the force be with us , sheeeeeit. about 4 hours ago via web

Guess who just brought my clothes back …. Lol about 2 hours ago via Tweetie

She hasn’t actually addressed it in your typical political press release, but she’s been subliminal enough. I’ll keep you posted on her latest response, as they seem to be more interesting than the cornballs pressing charges.

4.2.10: A few sources claim that Dallas police have pursued legal action against Ms. Badu because she got naked in Dealey Plaza last month, while shooting a video. According to the Dallas Morning News, the city plans to “examine whether tough penalties, such as a hefty fine, could be established for people who produce a film for profit in the city without the proper permits,” Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway said.

Via her twitter page, Erykah Badu doesn’t seem to be worried at all:

No one has pressed charges . All propaganda . Dont believe everything u hear . Fall back soldiers . EveryTING fine . about 8 hours ago via Tweetie

She also continues to share her thoughts on the controversy:

i would never disrespect JFK . his revolutionary thinking is my inspiration. my performance art has been grossly misinterpreted by many. 11:26 PM Mar 31st via web
