Kelly Cutrone is a very well-known fashion publicist in the industry and owns People’s Revolution, a PR and branding firm w/ offices in NY, LA and Paris. She stars in her own reality show, “Kell On Earth,” and recently penned If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You. The lady has a mouth on her, to say the least. Is there anyone you just couldn’t work with?
Philippe Starck. I love his designs, but I just found him to be ridiculous. We went into a meeting, and he started rattling on about how there should be a parade with a hundred people wearing masks of his face, and how the public needed to know him because he could make a toothbrush chic. I actually got up in the middle of the meeting and was like, ‘This is not for us. He doesn’t like me, I don’t like him. I’m out.’?”

The Fashion world is obsessed with Lady Gaga. Are you a fan?
I don’t really care for her. I know everybody thinks she’s really great, and fashion people are happy because she’s one of the few girls who will wear a look off the runway. But having grown up with people like Debbie Harry and Alice Cooper and Kiss, I just don’t really see anything very original about what she’s doing. I don’t like her style. I find it to be very violent. She looks like Dolly Parton after a murder.

What do you think of Michelle Obama as a style icon? She’s cool. She has done her part for the fashion industry as an intelligent, beautiful first lady. It’s about time we had a hot first lady.
