Erykah Badu Denies Getting Back w Baby Daddy, D.O.C.

Erykah Badu’s camp recently released a statement denying that she would be reconciling with the father of one of her children (Puma), nor will she be joining his reality show. Who’s this baby daddy that we’re ferrring to?

The one and only, D.O.C. (real name Tracy Curry). Last week, the Dallas Observer ran a story about the latest news on D.O.C., part of which he mentions living with Badu and his hopes that he’ll land a reality show and later marry her. Badu disputes these claims and would like to set the record straight. Peep the statement below.

Erykah Badu and The D.O.C. share parental responsibilities for their daughter and their relationship as it regards that aim is very good. However, that is the full extent of their personal involvement and no romantic dynamic exists between the two. Moreover, Erykah has no plans to marry or have any sort of courtship with the D.O.C. Ms. Badu has no plans to allow a reality show to be filmed in her private Dallas residence or to include any of her children in the filming. Ms. Badu has no concrete plans further than a guest appearance in his reality show. The D.O.C.’s comments were either taken out of context, improperly interpreted, or reflective of his now, not-so-secret desires. Whatever the case, Erykah wishes D.O.C. well both spiritually and professionally.

Ouch. Peep the full story here.

Erykah had firmly built a strong brand, but somewhere along the way she was sidelined by those rappers/ having their babies. I do understand that she would have want kids though. But after Seven, she could have solidified her brand and made mega millions. I loved her & Dre 3000, but the other two…? I on’know… They don’t have the money like Dre. To get with DOC must have meant she was awfully lonely and just wanting a man. sure, she wanted marriage with 3000, but that was not happening. And is she still messing with J Elecktro? Why doesn’t she revamp her personal life, move on & get with a man who will marry her? She’s getting old now, and so are the rapper baby daddy tales. She’s talented, and too too old to be looking at Drake. Just let go of the past and move on, my sister. Just weary of hearing the stories about the aging, broke rappers that she loves to hate on. I think she knows she fumbled a bit.
