Ne-Yo Leaves Def Jam for Motown, “These are big shoes to fill….”

R&B singer, actor, and new father, Ne-Yo, has parted ways with Def Jam and built a bridge to Motown. It’s unknown exactly why Ne-Yo has left Def Jam for a spot at the historic Motown, but what is known is that his very own, compound entertainment, will now be under Motown.
In addition to joining Motown and bringing his own label with him, Motown named Ne-Yo senior vice president of A&R at the label. Ne-Yo released a statement explaining:
“I’m honored that I’ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it.”
Ne-Yo‘s 5th studio album, ‘The Cracks in Mr. Perfect’ is due to release under Motown. P.S. What did we think of Ne-Yo’s performance in ‘Red Tails’?
