Singer Akon Is The FATHER, Now Legally Has Six Children

How do I say this politely? Rapper/producer Akon (real name Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam) don’t shoot no blanks. The 39-year-old hit maker has recently learned that legally, he is the father of two children that he has already taking care of. What’s the big deal? There isn’t one perse, but let’s break the bambinos down. According to a 2007 interview with Blender, he has five children already, with three different women. In 2009, he reportedly had another child with a woman he met, while on tour in Uganda. Fast forward to the present day and last month, he filed paternity docs in court to become the legal father of two children he had out of wedlock. The two children were born in 2008 and 2009 and Akon asks the court to grant him joint legal custody. He’s also requested the kids be eligible to inherit from him — same as if they were born in wedlock — and to keep his last name. A source close to the singer tells TMZ,

“Akon has been a father to the boys since they were born, and this is just a necessary step to make sure he is legally recognized as such.”

What’s dope? Akon LOVES him some bambinos. In an interview with NY Daily News he said:

“[To set the record straight], I never ran away from my responsibilities and I never plan to. Everything I am doing now is for [my other five kids] anyway, so the more kids I can have, the better. I just love them.”
