[Video] Alicia Keys Says She & Swizz Beatz Met As Teenagers + Watch Her ‘New Day’ Performance

Three months after the release of her fifth studio album, “Girl On Fire,” Alicia Keys is still making her rounds doing various appearances. She performed at President Obama’s Inaguration Ball, the Grammy Awards, and most recently, the NBA All-Star game (which got mixed reviews from fans and critics alike). This week, A. Keys met up with gossip queen, Wendy Williams for a quick chat followed by a performance. The 30-year-old mother of one, opened up a bit more about her relationship with her husband Swizz Beatz (which some argue has been pegged with controversy, because of allegations that he was still married to singer Mashonda), future plans for her ovaries and what her relationship is like with Jay-Z and Beyonce. Peep a few excerpts.

On if it was love at first sight with her and Swizz Beatz:

“No, it was totally different. Because we met when I was 16 and he was 17. And a friend of ours that went to his high school was like, ‘Oh you gotta meet Swizz.’…. And that was how we met.”

On how long the courtship was:

“I think that what it was was that what happened with us was so crazy because we’ve obviously known each other for so long, been friends for so long, and been in the same industry for so long. But I never thought it was like that. But he’s actually kind of a little too ostentatious for my taste. He would wear not one, but 16 chains… And then not a regular car, it has to be the most craziest car of all time. So I was like ‘I dunno.’ So I think what happened was I think he got me when I saw how far his mind went. He’s really really intelligent, and knows so many interesting things… I think that he knows how to live life and he really showed me how to live life in a beautiful way.”

On if they ever go to hang out with Beyonce and Jay-Z:

“I have to say, when I’ve put him in the carseat and we’ve driven somewhere and actually we got up and met, strangely enough it’s been the studio… We’ll get together and meet there and hang out and the kids will hang out.. I think actually Egypt kissed Blue. I don’t think Jay liked it very much. He called my husband, he was like, ‘Ummm.. Watch your son.’”

On if she wants to have more kids:

“I definitely want more kids. I would like to wait at least two years.”

On how many pianos she has in her house:

“I just have one… It’s my first piano ever, and it’s very nostalgic.”
