Oprah Winfrey Announces Two New OWN Reality Shows
Oprah Winfrey is rolling out the red carpet for friend Tyler Perry, leading up to the spring premiere of his new shows. Last year, the friends inked a multi million deal for Perry to write, produce and direct shows on the OWN network. Perry will sit down with Oprah in his Atlanta home for the award-winning ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter.’ and discuss his life, career, how he built his own lane in Hollywood and the creative process for his two newest shows appearing on the network.
Tyler will also be featured on ‘Tyler Perry Comes To OWN: Behind The Scenes’, giving viewers an inside look at the making of ‘The Have and The Have Nots’ starring Tika Sumpter (The Game, Sparkle) and ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ starring Palmer Williams (House of Payne). This will be the first time viewers will get an in-depth look into what it takes to create a series, making business decisions and filming the show.
The besties joined forces as their well known characters Miss Sophia (Color Purple) and Madea (Madea’s Family Reunion) to promote the venture. Peep the video below.
Oprah also announced two new reality shows that will appear on the network. Millionaire Mama’s Boy will highlight the relationship between 25-year-old Denver Nuggets center Javele McGee and former WNBA player and momager Pamela McGee, as they work to build an empire while trying to control the temptations and glamour of being a professional athlete.
The second reality show, Houston Beauty, follows Miss Glenda Jemison, owner and director of Franklin Beauty, one of Houston’s oldest licensed beauty schools. The show features the entire family and there students who range from exotic dancers to kitchen beauticians.
