‘Bow Down’: Beyonce Praises Jay-Z’s ‘Magna Carta’ Platinum Sells
Using the title of one of her latest tracks, Bow Down, Beyonce posted the photo above, congratulating her husband, Jay-Z, on his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Reportedly, the rapper’s 12th solo studio album has already went platinum. Tuesday afternoon, Roc Nation shared the photo above:
According to Billboard, Mr. Carter’s latest project is expected to sell in the 350,000-400,000 range for the week ending July 14. (Those projections are based on pre-orders through digital retailers.) If the numbers hold, Jay is assured a #1 debut, which would give him a record 13th #1 bow, extending his streak as the solo artist with the most #1s in history. And according to MTV, despite the fact that Jay managed to get the RIAA to play by his #newrules? and change their stance on what qualifies for gold and platinum sales status, the good folk at Billboard refuse to count the Samsung giveaway in its first-week sales figures. Stay tuned for more news on Jay’s final numbers.
