‘Save the Boobies!’ Celebs Throw Breast Party for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
With Breast Cancer Awareness in full swing, the celebs were out in Atlanta in full force for the BET & Planned Parenthood ‘Breast Party Ever’ event held at Ventana’s in Atlanta. Hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam, the event aimed to raised awareness about the importance of breast health for women ages 20 to 40. Pulliam told attendees,
Making sure that young people have the information and support they need to live happy, healthy lives is one of my deepest passions, that’s why I am a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood. One of the most important things women can do in their lives is take charge of their health. That’s especially important when it comes to our breast health – you can really never start too early.
Actress Tasha Smith of Tyler Perry’s ‘For Better or Worse’ and ‘Why Did I Get Married?’ is also a Planned Parenthood celebrity ambassador and member of the Board of Advocates. During the event, she spoke as well sharing her own personal story:
When I grew up Planned Parenthood was there for me. And, when I started out as an actress, like many young professionals, I did not have health insurance so guess where I went – to Planned Parenthood for my annual exams.
We spotted a few familiar faces and celebs including: Tameka Raymond, Valeisha Butterfield, Sharlinda Parker, Kahdijiha Rowe of ‘Big Rich Atlanta’, ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s’ Lil Scrappy and girlfriend Bambi.
