Golden Brooks, Countess Vaughn, and Elise Neal To Star in TV One’s ‘Hollywood Divas’
With the countless reality shows airing everyday, there’s another one being thrown in the mix. TV One just announced a spinoff from their R&B Divas with an actress-based show Hollywood Divas. Who’s on the bill? The LA based show will feature black hollywood elites like; Elise Neal (The Hughleys), Paula Jai Parker (Hustle and Flow), Countess Vaughn (The Parkers), Lisa Wu—Real Housewives of Atlanta—and Girlfriends’ Golden Brooks.
The Sr. VP of Programming and Production for the network said:
TV One’s audience has a passion for programming that reveals the private stories behind the public lives of Black artists. The Hollywood Divas‘ willingness to share their experiences with inequality and obstacles when it comes to the Hollywood merry-go-round is the foundation of this series. How these women are personally affected by this phenomenon and how they individually handle the pressure, is where the Hollywood Diva stories begins.
If you’ll recall, we sat down with LHHATL’s executive producer Carlos King and he hinted on a spin off:
It’s a docu-series about African American women that’s running through my production company, Kingdom Reign Entertainment. It’s time for me to branch out and do my own thing. The cast I have is amazing, its precedented to say the least and it’s definitely going to change the game for reality television. These women are celebrities but their stories are relatable and its definitely going to be a good show.
Although he couldn’t name drop then, he revealed today (May 7) via his Instagram.
Nice surprise!
